DIN 580 lifting eye bolt

The DIN 580 AISI 304 (A2) stainless steel eye bolt is a male lifting eye designed for equipment used outdoors or in damp areas, such as pumps, motors, electrical cabinets, HVAC units or machinery that is washed frequently. It is manufactured to DIN 580 in M6 to M24 threads.

AISI 304 is the general-purpose stainless steel used across industry: it withstands moisture, condensation and washing with water. It is the right choice when zinc plating falls short and the environment has no significant chloride exposure.

*Tip: Before each lift, check that the base of the eye bolt sits fully on the component.

Steel

The DIN 580 zinc-plated steel eye bolt is a male lifting eye that screws into a tapped hole to create a lifting point on housings, tooling, motors and machinery assemblies. Manufactured to DIN 580, it offers the widest size range: M6 to M48, with a working load limit (WLL) in axial pull from 75 kg to 8,600 kg.

The zinc coating protects the steel surface against corrosion, making it suitable for indoor use and dry or mildly corrosive environments.

*Tip: The WLL shown is for vertical pull; if the load works at an angle, capacity is reduced.

Benefits:

High load capacity: Up to 8,600 kg WLL in axial pull in the largest sizes.
Widest thread range: From M6 to M48, for small parts and heavy equipment.
Direct mounting: The male threaded shank screws straight into the component's tapped hole, with no additional parts.

The DIN 580 AISI 316 (A4) stainless steel eye bolt is the male lifting eye for chloride-containing environments, such as coastal areas, installations exposed to salt water or processes involving chlorinated cleaning. Manufactured to DIN 580, it is available from M6 to M24 with an axial WLL from 75 kg to 1,800 kg.

The molybdenum in the alloy improves resistance to pitting corrosion compared with AISI 304. This type of corrosion is typical of environments containing salt or chlorine.

*Tip: Inspect the eye and thread regularly, and replace the eye bolt if it shows deformation or pitting.

Benefits:

Pitting resistance: AISI 316 withstands chlorides better than AISI 304.
For aggressive environments: Recommended where A2 may not be sufficient, such as coastal outdoor sites or wash-down areas using chlorinated products.
Up to 1,800 kg WLL: In axial pull, in M6 to M24 threads.
